Make a Christmas Wreath |
|
You Will
Need
- Two wire hangers
- A spool of floral tape
- 6" of evergreen tree branch cuttings
- Floral wire
- Wire cutters
- A glue stick or hot glue gun
- And a hanger hook
- Pinecones, real or fake
- Holly sprigs, real or fake
- Wide red or tartan ribbon, or a store-bought bow
- And a chenille stem, or pipe cleaner
|
|
Steps |
- Bend
the hangers
Take two wire hangers and fashion each into a circle. Don’t worry if they’re not perfectly round.
- Bind
the hangers
Bind the hangers together with floral tape to make a base.
- Arrange
your cuttings
Arrange your tree cuttings on the base, attaching them with floral wire. Make sure the stems overlap.
|
|
If you don’t feel like buying cuttings
or foraging for greenery, use the branches you cut off the bottom
of your tree to make it fit in its stand. |
- Glue
pinecones
Glue pinecones onto the wreath, if you want.
- Glue
holly
Cut holly sprigs into 4-inch lengths and glue them where desired.
|
|
Beware—holly berries are toxic, so keep
them away from children and pets! |
- Attach
a bow
Attach a big store-bought bow to the top with a chenille stem, or make your own from wide ribbon.
- Hang
your wreath
Hang your creation using the hanger hook. Reward yourself with a spiked eggnog.
